Shéhérézade 2017 ChSh17
Shéhérazade was a famous women storyteller in Shiraz, a Persian city also famous as the supposed origin town of the Syrah / Shiraz grape varietal (both writing exist). We found out it's not the case but it's a nice way to remind we say "La" Syrah in French and not "Le" Syrah. Great wine very intense and round. Must try.
Aging: Oak barrel (24 months)
Drink before: 2027
Obviously calling redmeat but also very nice on it's own for people looking for a great glass of red wine. Since when do we need to eat something with ?
Temperature of service: 15-18°C.
Mathurin is the 9th generation leading Domaine de Chafalet. He took over the family business in 2016 after working for a while with his Dad. 5ha located in Essertines for more than 15 wines, only cultivated manually due to the high hills on all the vineyard. A huge work, a lot of novelties / testing and an outstanding overall quality.
